The “CHARGER” is a mid-range gun and its all about keeping volume in the board for paddling into larger waves, but having a shorter length board once on the wave to maximize turning and barrel riding ability.

This board has been in development at TWIG SURFBOARDS for over 15 years and has recently been brought to the forefront of world surfing by a number of the best big wave surfers moving to this type of design such as John John Florence, Ian Walsh, Natxo Gonzales and Mark Healy. It’s also a great choice for bigger surfers looking for a controlled, easy feel in all types of waves.

The “CHARGER” has a wider, curvy outline and a slight V bottom with double concave through out, creating a free turning board with all the hold and drive of a regular gun while maximizing speed. A low, smooth paddle entry, accelerating through the double concave and V tail allows this board control during high speed rides.

It surfs loose, like a shortboard, but has the extra paddle-power and hold you need in solid surf, which equates to a board which paddles like it’s a foot longer while turning like its a foot shorter.

Tested worldwide at places like Mexico, Fiji, South Africa, Western Australia, Northern California, Europe and Hawaii, the “CHARGER’s” extra thickness and width through the chest will help maximize paddle power, getting you in early and have you making step drops while the thinned out, refined rails, nose and tail will give you control where you need it most, during high speed turns and in the barrel.

Available from 7’0 to 9’0 and standard with a 5-fin option to be used as a Thruster or Quad, depending on the conditions, to maximize versatility, this is the perfect board for pushing your performance in big surf.
