Pukas The Lotus
Pukas THE LOTUS
The Lotus is the result of our pursuit of the perfect blend of aesthetics, performance, and pure fun. This midlength stands out for its bold character, combining classic hardcore style with modern, smooth lines, defined rails, and a subtle faux channel. The bottom delicately connects a V-bottom with double concaves, enhanced by a hydro-channel effect that provides fluidity and stability through long, drawn-out lines. Its versatile fin setup, featuring a box with side stabilizers, ensures excellent performance across a wide range of conditions and suits surfers of all levels.
The board features Pukas’ first logo, the iconic Sunny wave.
Rudy Palmboom, who has tested the Lotus extensively, has developed 5 key points:
“Christiannnn, thanks for reaching out bru!”
Here’s my 5-point feedback on the Lotus we’ve been testing… it’s definitely the best version I tried so far.
1. Outline & overall feel: The slightly fuller nose and more rounded outline make this version feel more balanced — it’s kept the performance side but added a smoother, more midlength-inspired feel.
2. Paddle & flow: The lower rocker gives great paddle power and connects sections easily, while still feeling lively and reactive when you want to turn.
3. Rails, tail & turning: Super smooth through direction changes — it feels stable and flowy, especially off the back foot. You can really draw longer lines and tighter arcs easily.
4. Speed & channel: The channel design is super cool — there’s definite drive and speed, but it still feels solid under your feet and easy to control.
5. Who it’s for: I think this model is perfect for surfers coming from a shortboard background who want to edge into the midlength world… The 2+1 fin setup makes the transition even easier — it still feels familiar for thruster surfers but offers much more glide and flow. It paddles great without losing responsiveness.
