Gabriel Medina finishes 3r at the 2013 WT Billabong Pro Rio
At one point Gabriel Medina was the undisputed favorite to win, but he came up short to compatriot Adriano de Souza (BRA) in an incredible breath-taking ending to their semifinal clash.
Gabriel was on fire today, earning a perfect 10 point ride for a barrel-to-air combination in the Quarterfinal and landing inverted backside and frontside airs.
“It’s so hard to get that close to the final and lose, but it was a good event for me” said Medina after his loss. “My ankle injury has finally healed so that’s good progress for my season and congratulations to Adriano on the heat win. Hopefully I can do better in Fiji”.
